What the key tasks will look like
We are looking for a versatile and driven Data Scientist to help us shape the future of our company through advanced analytics and AI. If you're eager to work on meaningful projects, collaborate across departments, and make a real difference—this could be your next career move.
- Design, develop, and implement advanced data science solutions that drive business value. For example; predicting diagnoses based on treatments, forecasting workload for workforce planning, and automating processes through document classification and extraction.
- Work with large and often sensitive datasets, ensuring compliance with GDPR and the European AI Act.
- Collaborate closely with both business and IT stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Present your findings clearly to a wide range of audiences, including senior management.
- Act as a business partner for one or more departments, supporting data literacy and adoption of analytics.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in your analytical domain and proactively apply them to DKV’s context.
Required skills and competencies
Background and personal skills
- You have a Master’s degree in Data Science or a related quantitative field (e.g., statistics, econometrics), or equivalent in experience, with at least 3 years relevant experience. Background in health insurance or healthcare is a plus. Consulting experience is a plus.
- You have a strong methodological and quantitative way of thinking, with solid conceptual and practical problem-solving abilities, quick to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- You are structured and precise in your approach, with a sharp eye for quality and potential weaknesses in your work products, including those of colleagues.
- You take initiative and work autonomously, while knowing when to align or ask for support,just as willing to offer help if needed.
- You have an excellent command of English and Dutch and/or French, both written as spoken, and you are able to communicate with all levels within the company ranging from business user to top management.
- You excel in collaboration, presentation and organizational skills, and you are able to build trust within the organization
- You’re open to learn and eager to understand how the company works and how data can make a difference. You thrive in a dynamic environment and can handle pressure with ease.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Python and SQL. R is a plus.
- Proficient with tools like Visual Studio Code, Git, Bitbucket.
- Experienced in a wide range of data science techniques, including AI and GenAI.
